I really love this guy, right down to the fact that he probably lost a pipe along the way, leaving him with a wide open mouth that looks as if it might be shouting "timberrrrr!" The rather expressionistic black checkerboard pattern painted on top of the red of his shirt I think is really excellent too. Wonderfully crude, perfectly aged, and feels to me most likely done by a Canadian folk artist in the 1970s or 80s or so.

6 3/8" t x 2" w x 1 5/8", in very good vintage condition and stands on his own.
