“Hidden underneath his wool hood, with the fake beard and the eye patch, he was unrecognisable to everyone, though he was the most wanted man in the kingdom. As the officials moved the targets further away, one of the others, a man dressed in red tights and a feathered hat and smelling of rosewater, spoke: “Tell me, One-Eye, do you believe you can win the silver arrow?”. The disguised man chuckled; “I might not be as spry as I once was, but I still stand a fair chance.”
Inspired by the mediaeval gugel hood style from Germany, the Fimbul Hood is made from herring-bone pattern wool with polyester light and dark brown fur trim. It works well on top of another garment, as they were normally worn in the Middle Ages. Typically, this would be a shirt or a tunic, where the hood was added as extra protection from the weather, especially in winter with the fur trim. It ties together at the neck with a leather cord so that you can adjust it to fit.
