A unique login is provided for each staff member to streamline use in a busy classroom - just click to view videos or print PDF files. Your kit can be customised with your state's beginner handwriting font. Just select an option from the drop-down menu.

Your kit also includes one printed set of playing cards and practice sheets. Bulk orders of these resources can be purchased as required.

What makes the Easy Alphabet so effective?

A typical phonics alphabet supports letter learning by including a picture that starts with the sound (e.g. a picture of a moon for the letter m). A typical embedded picture mnemonic offers an additional link by including a picture, that starts with the target sound, and is formed in the shape of the letter it represents (e.g. a penguin in the shape of the letter p, or a horse in the shape of the letter h). But neither of these options help the child remember how to write the letter...

The Easy Alphabet embedded picture mnemonic provides stronger visual and verbal links to help reduce cognitive load and convert that pesky black squiggle on the page into something more meaningful, building stronger links in memory.

This embedded mnemonic picture kit is designed for instructional use in an early years classroom. It is also a useful intervention tool for struggling beginner readers who are needing intensive support to establish strong letter-sound links. 

Select your State font

The Easy Alphabet is a licensed Read3 product. The state-specific fonts featured in all Easy Alphabet resources are supplied by Australian School Fonts. Read3 is authorised to print and distribute these fonts under the Australian School Fonts Multi-User Publishing Licence. 

The Foundation (Generic) set includes alternate letter formation for d, k, t, v and w. This 'beginner' font features on all Printed Easy Alphabet resources. If you are uncertain (or based in NZ) please select this set.

State-specific font sets designed for Australia include:

** VIC/WA/NT: The Easy Alphabet instructional videos feature a 'beginner' foundational font. The VIC Modern Cursive font features exit tails on all letters, plus unique letter formation for b, p, x and z. As a result, the Easy Alphabet picture and 'story' do not always align. While the instructional videos feature the Easy Alphabet font, a unique set of printable resources has been developed to support handwriting for those based in VIC, WA, NT, Yolngu and Anangu.

Accessing Easy Alphabet Online

Upon ordering, the Read3 team will reach out to confirm personal email addresses for your five licence holders. Each licensee will then receive notification on how to activate their Read3 Account and where to access 'the Easy Alphabet Online' portal.
