Located on the Isle of Skye at the most westerly point sitting atop the Durinish peninsula is the very well-preserved Neist Point Lighthouse. Many come to the area to enjoy a walk on the long trail and also to watch whales, dolphins, birds and the second-largest shark known to mankind, the Basking shark. The lighthouse was built in 1909 and designed by Engineer David Alan Stevenson.
