Popular in the mid to late Victorian era, human hair wreaths and hair art were created for a variety of reasons.

While most were a touching tribute to memorialize the dearly departed, hairwork also was used for sentimental reasons as a way to celebrate friendship, family and love.

This sweet little hairwork masterpiece is shaped like a small bouquet of flowers and features hair from numerous people accented with tiny dried and artificial flowers. It comes in a newer shadowbox frame. 

Unfortunately, it does not have any information about who it might have belonged to or whether it is a memorial or sentimental piece, so we will just have to appreciate it as the work of art that it is.
